I10 in Brussels-South

The I10 are express train passenger cars of the SNCB , which have been in use on the Belgian rail network since 1987. The cars have had different color schemes throughout history.

When they were delivered, the cars were painted orange in the Eurofima C1 paint scheme , then they were modernized and given the new SNCB colors gray and white with a blue line. There are also some cars that are painted in Memling colors.

The 1st class car, the I10 A11, has 66 seats and the 2nd class, the I10 B11, has 86 seats.

In 2010 a number of I10 wagons were converted to 200 km / h. This enabled these wagons to be used on IC A (Oostende-Eupen) and IC O (Brussels-Visé) on HSL2 . Since December 2010, these cars have been used together with the I11 cars to reinforce these trains.

I10 Resto and Bar-Disco SR3

Because of the repeated failure of the Resto car (second-hand SNCF Grill Express), the SNCB decided in 2000 to convert 5 I10 cars into dining cars. These cars come with air conditioning and a blue color scheme with the Resto logo. The cars can travel 200 km / h.

Another car that has been converted from an I10 car is the SR3 bar-disc coach. Since the bar-disco concept began in the 80s and 90s, the SNCB decided in 2002 to convert an I10 car into the Bar-Disc-Coach SR3. This car has a white and gray color scheme with dancing figures. This car can be viewed on chartered trains and night trains (TTC Bergland Express or NMBS Treski). As with the Resto cars, the top speed of the car is 200 km / h and it is equipped with air conditioning.
