The row 13 of the Belgian State Railways (NMBS / SNCB) is a series of electrical multi-system locomotive . They were built by Alstom between 1998 and 2001 and have a top speed of 200 km / h. The 13 series is mainly used for express trains within Belgium (IC and IR), but also cross-border to Luxembourg and France.

The locomotives of the 13 series can be used with 3 kV direct current as well as 25 kV alternating current and were ordered in a joint series of 80 units; The Belgian State Railways received 60 of them and the Luxembourg State Railways (CFL) 20 as the 3000 series.

The head and driver's cab of row 13 were taken over for the control car of type I11 , with which row 13 often forms a push-pull train in intercity service .

Operational routes

  • Luxembourg – Brussels,
  • Liers – Lüttich – Gouvy – Luxemburg (formerly, these trains are now served by Siemens Desiro railcars of the SNCB),
  • as well as in the freight train service around Thonville.
