SQAS

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The safety and quality evaluation system ( Safety and Quality Assessment System, SQAS ) is a standard of the European Chemical Industry Association . It is used to evaluate the quality , safety and environmental compatibility of logistics providers.

development

In 1994 an evaluation tool for logistics service providers in the dangerous goods sector was presented for the first time . In the SQAS Road, only the quality of the actual transport of the dangerous goods was assessed. After the actual transport service, tank cleaning, hazardous material storage (Packaged Warehouse), tank storage and distributor are also rated with SQAS.

method

Independent experts evaluate the companies with the help of a standardized questionnaire. The results of these reports are published on the CEFIC website. In this way, potential customers can find out more about the SQAS rating of their logistics provider.

This creates an additional, specialist quality standard for the storage and transport of chemicals. In contrast to the standards of the ISO 9000 ff series , the aspects of safety and environmental compatibility should be given greater focus.
