The SV Union Raika Blindenmarkt is a football club from the Lower Austrian Blindenmarkt in the Melk district . The club belongs to the Lower Austrian Football Association (NÖFV) and currently plays in the seventh highest performance level, 1st class west.

history

The SV Blindenmarkt was founded in 1947. In 1974 the club was able to move up from the Melk district to the lower league, followed by promotion to the upper league in 1976. After only one season, however, had to start again in the lower league. In 1979 the rise followed.

From 1986 onwards, Blindenmarkt finally played in the 2nd national league for the first time. In 1987 you could win the Lower Austrian Cup . Then you could turn off the Prater SV in the qualifying round in the ÖFB Cup 1987/88 and thus qualify for the first main round. There they were clearly defeated by a 5-0 defeat away from the 1. Wiener Neustädter SC . This has been the only participation in the cup to this day.

However, this was followed by a dry spell in the club. Since relegation from the regional league as bottom of the table in the 2009/10 season, the club has been playing in the seventh class first class.

sports ground

In 1979, the Blindenmarkt sports complex became the property of the association. After the new construction of the facility between 2000 and 2002, the club received the Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien . The Lower Austrians went down in the opening game with 0: 9 against the Viennese.
