The SV Seebach is a Swiss football club from Seebach in the canton of Zurich . The club currently plays in the 3rd division , the seventh highest division of the Swiss Football Association .

history

After three attempts, the Seebach Sports Club (SVS) was founded on April 11, 1916. The Young Boys Seebach club, founded in 1886, only lasted until 1890 and FC Seebach, founded in 1913, went bankrupt in 1916.

In 1932 SV Sebach rose to the 1st league, at that time the second highest league in Switzerland. With the introduction of contract football, the pressure on the small clubs grew and so SV Seebach was relegated to the second division in 1936. In the following years, the SVS played with varying successes in the amateur leagues.

In 1970 SV Seebach founded a women's team. The women soon got more attention because they played at the top of the highest league. They won twelve championship titles and seven cup wins. SV Seebach had to part with them because the structures could no longer do justice. The women founded the FFC Zurich-Seebach, which then switched to the city club as FC Zurich .

A deficit led the SVS into crisis in 1999. However, some FCZ players and the women's team helped out. The club was then reorganized with the aim of promoting juniors.
