The Saaser Mutte is a Swiss breed of sheep that is native to the Saas Valley in the canton of Valais .

The Saas mutte is a local descendant of the Bergamasque sheep, an Italian breed of sheep. In contrast to other breeds that emerged from the Bergamasque sheep, hardly any other breeds were crossed due to the geographical remoteness of the breeding area. The Saas mother is relatively large-framed, hornless, has noticeably long ears and a strongly curved nose. Zibben have a height at the withers of 78 cm and a weight of about 80 kg, buck a height of 85 cm and a weight of about 100 kg.

In 2014, the population was only around 400 animals, which is why the breed is considered an endangered domestic animal breed. The case that 103 animals of the rare breed disappeared in September 2014 caused a stir in the Swiss media. Since then, breeders all over Switzerland have adopted the mothers and the population has grown to around 700 animals (as of 2019).
