The Sackheimer Kirche ( Russian Закхаймская кирха ) was a church in Sackheim , a district of Königsberg in Prussia .

history

A first church was built on the site from 1640 to 1648. An organ was installed in 1707 by Johann Josua Mosengel . The church burned down with the fire of the Löbenicht district immediately to the west in 1764. Its new building in rococo style was completed by the chief building director Karl Ludwig Bergius in 1769. The church wore a dainty rococo helmet with a heavy gilded weather vane from 1771 with the coat of arms of Sackheim with the Lamb of God . The rococo altar, the pulpit with ornamental decorations from 1769 and a youth made of sandstone from Threyne holding the baptismal bowl were worth seeing .

During the Second World War , the church survived the first bombing on 26/27. August 1944, but was destroyed three days later in the second air raid on Königsberg and later removed.
