Walter Schulte

Walter Schulte (born March 29, 1910 in Frankfurt am Main , † August 19, 1972 in Tyrol ) was a German psychiatrist .

Life

Schulte studied medicine and received his doctorate in 1934 at the University of Frankfurt am Main and became a medical assistant in Erfurt a year later. Between 1936 and 1947 he trained with Hans Berger in Jena , where he became senior physician in 1941. In 1943 the habilitation followed . From 1947 to 1954 he worked as a senior physician in Bethel in the Moria house. Then Schulte was director of the psychiatric institution Gütersloh from 1954 to 1960 and became a full professor in Tübingen in 1960 . In 1962 he was appointed director of the Tübingen University Neurological Clinic, an office he held until his death in 1972. from 1965 to 1967 Schulte was chairman of the German section of the ILAE (since 2004: German Society for Epileptology ; DGfE).

In 1968 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
