Saddle Island is a 3 km long island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is 9 km north of the western end of Laurie Island . A special feature of this island are its two mountain peaks , which are separated by a deep saddle interspersed with rocks at sea level.

The British navigator James Weddell discovered it in 1823 and named the island after its shape.
