Saddle Island ( English for saddle island ) is an island in the archipelago of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located immediately west of Laws Point before the entrance to Wilson Harbor .

Scientists of the British Discovery Investigations mapped it between 1930 and 1931 and gave it the descriptive name after it had been described under the name Franklin Island or Franklin Island from 1881 .
