The Saddlebunch Keys are a group of mangrove islands 13.4 km east of Key West . The main island is Saddlebunch Key .

location

The islands are spread out between Lower Sugarloaf Key in the east and Shark Key and Big Coppitt Key in the west. The US Highway 1 (or the Overseas Highway ) crosses some of the islands at MM 11.5-15.

The total population of 510 is spread over two places. In the east of the group is Bay Point on the main island , with a population of 432. The second place is Bluewater Key , with 78 inhabitants. Both locations are south of US Highway 1. The residential buildings of Bluewater Key are located in the western part of Bluewater Key, while the eastern part, separated from the residential area by the Blue Canal , is occupied by the Bluewater Key RV Resort campsite with 81 caravan spaces. In the north of Saddlebunch Key there is a large transmitter of the American Navy (Naval Radio Transmitter Facility, Saddlebunch Key).
