Sadik Kaceli, 1989

Sadik Kaceli (born March 24, 1914 in Tirana ; † 2000 ibid) was an Albanian painter . He studied in Paris as a pupil of Henri Matisse .

Kaceli studied at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Albania named him Painter of the People , and since 2000 he has been an honorary citizen of Tirana . He designed the first series of the Albanian Leks and the coat of arms for the Socialist People's Republic of Albania .

Kaceli was awarded the title Painter of the People .
