The open-air museum Saga Lund museum in Kemiö was founded in 1900 by the teacher Nils Oskar Jansson. The Skansen Museum (Stockholm) served him as a model. The most famous building in the museum is the Tjuda Educational Institute for Noble Children, which was founded in 1649 by the Swedish Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna . The building dates from the late 1700s and was transferred to Sagalund in 1914. In 1933 the building was renovated and restored to the state of the 1850s. The oldest building is Brink Kullatorpet from 1753. Other buildings include the main building of the museum, Villa Sagalund, the Vreta School, two farms, the old court and administration building as well as the barn, blacksmith, distillery and windmill and the building of Sweden's oldest Youth club.
