Fabulous is a series of travel documentaries from 2013 and MDR is broadcast. Axel Bulthaupt is the moderator of the programs .

Axel Bulthaupt usually travels to regions in the MDR broadcasting area, to other areas in the eastern German states or abroad. He presents the peculiarities of nature and history. In particular, however, new developments in the region are dealt with, which despite their young age deserve the title “legendary”. He regularly talks to people who tell him about unknown aspects of their homeland or successes in their sometimes unusual job.

Airtime

The programs are each 90 minutes long and appear at irregular intervals. There were two first broadcasts in 2013, six each in 2014 and 2015, eleven in 2016, four in 2017 and six each in 2018 and 2019. The first broadcast takes place on Sunday or public holiday evening at 8:15 p.m. on MDR. Repetitions run in the MDR and in the RBB . Most fabulous films are available on DVD.
