Sagittarius arm
The Carina Sagittarius Arm (also known as the Sagittarius Arm or Sagittarius Carina Arm ) is a small spiral arm in the Milky Way galaxy . The Carina Sagittarius arm is one of the most clearly visible arms as there are gigantic molecular clouds and many young stars in it.
The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy . The Carina Sagittarius arm is located between the Scutum Centaurus arm , which is closer to the center of the galaxy, and the Perseus arm , which is farther from the center. It is so named because the arm has its origin near the constellation Sagittarius and the keel of the ship .
The Carina-Sagittarius arm can be divided into the two parts Carina and Sagittarius.
