Sahm (surface)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sahm was an Egyptian square measure. The measure was subject to changes over time, which can be attributed to the length measure Qaşaba ( rod with 6 Hāšimī cubits ).

  • 1 Sahm = 1/24 Qīrāṭ = 7.293 square meters
    • 1 Qīrāṭ = 1/24 Faddān = 175.035 square meters

Side consideration: In the Middle Ages, a Qaşaba faddān from this length measure had 6368 square meters, before 1830 it was around 5306 ⅔ square meters and after this point 4200.833 square meters.
