sacrilege

The sacrilege (in the 16th century borrowed from the Latin sacrilegium "temple robbery"; composed of sacra "sanctuaries", casual "pick up") denotes an offense against the sacred .

In various religions, sacrilege includes , for example, the desecration of holy ground or holy things through robbery , desecration or abuse , but also an attack on consecrated persons.

If sacrilege is committed, it is often referred to as blasphemy or blasphemy .
