Salida al Mar
The Latin American poetry festival Salida al Mar was founded in 2004 in Buenos Aires by Christian de Nápoli, Washington Cucurto , Elizabeth Neira and Timo Berger . Since then, it has taken place annually in the Argentine capital with the support of Casa de la Poesía . Above all, it aims to introduce younger poets from all over Latin America .
In 2004 authors from Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina were invited. a. Martín Gambarotta , Martín Rodriguez , Laura Wittner , María Medrano , Rodolfo Edwards (Argentina), Guilherme Zarvos , Pablo Fichtener (Brazil), Pablo Paredes , Héctor Hernández (Chile) and Roxana Crisólogo (Peru).
In 2005, among the more than 50 invited poets, there were also authors from Bolivia and Mexico (Hernán Bravo Varela, Rocío Cerón). Based on the Salida al Mar, comparable events arose in other Latin American countries, including "Poquita Fé" in Chile, "Estoy Afuera" in Mexico and "Joven Novíssima Verba" in Peru. In 2006 the festival presented poets from Colombia and Venezuela for the first time.
