The Saltigo GmbH is a fine chemicals manufacturer based in Leverkusen .

history

The third LXS GmbH , a company in the fine chemicals division of the Lanxess Group , was renamed Saltigo GmbH on September 7, 2005. Saltigo GmbH was spun off on March 29, 2006 . The existing domination and profit transfer agreement remained in place, Saltigo GmbH remained a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lanxess Deutschland GmbH.

The name Saltigo is a combination of the two words saltare ( Italian for jump ) and go ( English for to go, to go ).

Saltigo is part of LANXESS's Advanced Intermediates segment. For a long time it was led by Wolfgang Schmitz until 2016. His successor was Torsten Derr, who will take over the position of CEO at SGL Carbon SE in mid-2020 and will therefore be replaced by Michael Zobel at Saltigo.
