Sambucuccio d'Alando
Sambucuccio d'Alando (* before 1357 in probably Alando ; † around 1370 ) was a Corsican general and Italian politician in Corsica. There he is known as Sambucucciu d'Alandu .
biography
Sambucuccio was probably born in Alando . In 1357 he led the anti-feudal revolt in Corsica. The islanders had risen against Francesco d'Evisa , as reported in the Chronicle of Giovanni della Grossa . He conquered the whole island except for Cap Corse and the Terra dei Signori ( A Terra di i Signori in Corsican ) in the south of the island. In doing so, he carried out a kind of collectivization of property. According to some historians, he was an ally of the Republic of Genoa and mainly fought to liberate Corsica from the Aragonese crown and subordinate it to the Banco di San Giorgio . He probably died during the plague in 1370 . The Nazionalismo corso movement regards him as one of the great patrioti corsi .
