Collective order

As a collective order are called in librarianship to acquire the mostly given by the wearer statement media according to specified criteria. This often goes hand in hand with a claim to completeness in the given collection area. In some cases, the collection mandate is stipulated by law, as in the "Law on the German National Library".

  • Libraries with special collections try to acquire literature on a topic as completely as possible.
