Collection for democracy and freedom

The Collection for Democracy and Liberty ( English Rally for Democracy and Liberty , abbreviated as RDL ; French Rassemblement pour la Démocratie et la Liberté ) is a Chadian rebel group that was founded in August 2005 by former members of the Chadian armed forces who deserted and fell under its founder and current leader Mohammed Nour , was founded.

The main objective is stated to overthrow the government of the current President Idriss Déby and to hold elections after a two-year transition period. The Democracy and Freedom Collection has bases in eastern Chad and the Darfur region of Sudan . On December 18, 2005, the Democracy and Freedom Collection attacked Chadian troops stationed in the city of Adre , leading to the current crisis in relations between Chad and Sudan.
