San Luis is a village in the Bolívar district of the state of Falcón in Venezuela . It is located on the San Luis mountain range, 64 km south of Coro and 700 meters above sea level . It was founded in 1770 as San Luis de Cariagua .
San Luis was initially inhabited by Jirajara Indians.
The Cariagua River runs through this village. Agriculture is the main engine of the region.
The waterfalls of the Mitare River and the Carrizalito and Peregüey caves are nearby.
