Sanjak Serfije

Sanjak Serfidsche (Greek: Serbia, Servia) was an administrative unit in the Ottoman Empire and was formed in 1880 by the Ottomans from the areas of Western Macedonia and Thessaly . It was named after the administrative center of the Sanjak, which was located in what is now the Greek city of Servia (Ottoman Serfidsche). Since 1888 it has belonged to the Vilayet Monastir . In 1888, about 190,000 people lived in the Sanjak Serfije.
