from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As medical Guest ( San guest ) are in the German Navy is the enlisted personnel of the medical service on board ships. Paramedics are available to assist the ship's doctor or ship's medical assistant in the treatment and care of sick and injured soldiers and in monitoring the on-board hygiene.

On board a naval ship, the crew is provided with medical care in the event of illness, an accident or injury, which should ultimately correspond to the professional standard in Germany. This task is carried out in the ship's hospital by the ship's doctor and possibly the ship's dentist, ship medical assistants (formerly: medical master), ship's medical assistants (formerly: medical officer) and the medical guest. The medical guest must achieve above-average performance across the entire spectrum of the medical service. Training to become a paramedic is planned for his work. Due to the long-term special training, there are no longer any basic military service on board as medical guests, but only soldiers (FWDL) or temporary soldiers (SaZ) who are voluntarily longer on duty . Since 2011, ship's medical assistants and shipping medical assistants have been able to take the medical assistant examination at the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Physicians as part of the professional advancement that follows their period of service.
