Sankt Olofsholm
Sankt Olofsholm is a peninsula in the parish of Hellvi in the northeastern part of the Swedish island of Gotland . According to the Gutasaga , the Norwegian King Olof Haraldson ( Olav the Saint ) is said to have landed on a trip to Russia in 1029 near Sankt Olofsholm, which was then called Akergarn. He is said to have Christianized Gotland at that time. A church was built at this location to commemorate this presumed shore leave. Parts of it are built into a storage building that still exists today. In the eastern part of Sankt Olofsholm there is an 11 hectare nature reserve . It covers large parts of the hill south of the old port.
