Santa Leocádia de Tamel is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Barcelos . The community had 750 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the territorial reform on September 29, 2013 , the municipalities of Tamel (Santa Leocádia) and Vilar do Monte were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Tamel (Santa Leocádia) e Vilar do Monte . Tamel (Santa Leocádia) is the seat of this newly formed community.
