Santo Lia is a German - Italian pool player . With seven German single championship titles , he is one of the most successful players in the senior age group .

Career

At the German championship in 1995 Santo Lia came for the first time beyond the quarter-finals. With gold medals in the 8-ball and 9-ball disciplines as well as a bronze medal in the 14/1 endless , this was also his most successful German championship. Two years later he was again German 9-ball champion and won bronze in the 14/1 endlessly. In 1998 he reached the finals of all four competitions. While he defeated Wolfgang Siethoff endlessly in 14/1 , he lost in 8-ball and 8-ball cup competition against Robert Hasenthaler and in 9-ball against Richard Hartmann . 1999He was again German champion in 8-ball and was also able to successfully defend his title in 14/1. At the German championship in 2000 he won bronze endlessly in 14/1 and in 8-ball, before finally becoming German champion for the last time in 2004 in 9-ball. A year later he reached the quarter-finals of a German championship for the last time in 14/1.

Santo Lia first played at PBC Köln-Süd and later moved to BC Uni Cologne , with whom he rose to the top division in 2010. After the 2010/11 season, the club withdrew its team to the district league and Lia moved to PSG Cologne , with whom played in the association league from 2012 to 2016. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he was without a club. Santo Lia has been playing for the "Nippeser Pool Friends" since November 22nd, 2016.
