Santo Stefano al Ponte ("Saint Stephen at the Bridge") is a Roman Catholic church in Florence . First mentioned in a document in the 12th century, the church is now used as a venue for concerts and theater performances. The name of the church goes back to St. Stephen and the proximity of the Ponte Vecchio . In the side rooms of the church there is a museum with art objects from the Archdiocese of Florence .

Santo Stefano al Ponte was first mentioned in writing in the 12th century. The border of the central portal with green and white marble goes back to the 13th century. The lower part of the facade is in the Romanesque style, the upper part shows features of the early Gothic . The coffered ceiling in the interior with wood carvings as well as the lectern date from the 17th century.

In the 20th century the church was badly affected by Arno floods, war and mafia attacks.
