Sara Pereyra Baras (born April 25, 1971 in Cádiz ) is a Spanish flamenco dancer. Her mother Concha Baras, who ran her own dance school, taught her flamenco .

Life

When she started working with guitarist Manuel Morao in 1989 , she quickly gained a good reputation. In 1991 she recorded a dance scene for Mission: Impossible II in the patio of the Casa de Pilatos in Seville . She worked with Javier Barón , and Merche Esmeralda had her appear on her show Mujeres . She worked with Antonio Canales and with El Güito . She danced with Manuel Morao at the Seville Expo in 1992 and later in New York. As a solo dancer, she took part in several tributes for Camarón de la Isla . As a model, she appeared in shows by Amaya Arzuaga at London Fashion Week and for Francis Montesinos in Madrid and Lisbon.

She received several awards, including the Madroño Flamenco de Montellano ( Seville ) in 1993. In 1997 she founded her own company with which she was allowed to conclude the Festival Nacional de Cante de las Minas in La Unión . Sensaciones (1998) and Sueños (1999) are among the most famous shows of their company. In 1998 she presented the program Algo más que flamenco on TVE. In 1999 she received the prize for the best choreography, in 2001 and 2003 for the best dance performer in Spain.
