Sarah Bormann (born April 27, 1990 in Bad Soden-Salmünster ) is a German boxer . Bormann has been active as a professional since 2017, since June 2018 reigning world champion of the (professional) associations WIBF , GBU and since May 2019 also WBF (World Boxing Federation) world champion in light flyweight . Sarah Bormann was previously active as an amateur in the German Boxing Association (DBV). She played over 121 amateur fights, was four times German champion and boxed in the German national team from 2010 to 2017.

Amateur career (Olympic boxing)

Bormann was a four-time German champion in the elite class. In 2010 and 2013 she became German champion in light flyweight up to 48 kg, in 2016 and 2017 in flyweight up to 51 kg.

To this day, Bormann is the only female boxer in the DBV who was able to win all international competitions and is thus unbeaten so far.

Professional career

Bormann has been boxing as a professional light flyweight since 2017. On December 15, 2017, she won her first professional fight by technical knockout. She has won all of the eleven professional fights completed so far, seven of them by knockout

Sarah Bormann won her professional debut against Kitti Kolompar after just 34 seconds in the first round through TKO. Already in the 5th fight Sarah Bormann boxed for the international German championship of the BDB and for the intercontinental championship of the WIBF and GBU. In the 6th fight Sarah Bormann won the world championship of the WIBF and GBU in the light flyweight division.

After successfully defending his titles against Evgeniya Zablotskaya (Russia) and Sanae Jah (Belgium), Bormann also won the WBF (World Boxing Federation ) world championship against Anne Sophie Da Costa (France) in 2019 .
