Sarah Oberson

Sarah Oberson (* 1980 ) is a Swiss woman who went missing in 1985 at the age of five . Her fate moved all of Switzerland.

The girl was last seen on September 28, 1985 at 5.30 p.m. when she wanted to visit her grandmother by bike in Saxon VS. The bike was found that same evening in the playground in front of the local gym. But there was no trace of Sarah, despite a large search operation by the police, army and volunteers. The police investigations, among others with the support of the FBI , did not lead to any results. Assumptions that Sarah was kidnapped abroad could not be confirmed.

The case occupied the Valais and the village for decades. The now deceased school caretaker, with whom Sarah was last seen, was believed by many to be the kidnapper and left the village because of the pressure exerted on him. The Saxon State Councilor Bernard Comby and Sarah Oberson's parents founded the Sarah Oberson Foundation , which works to protect abducted or abused children. In 2015, the writer Eric Felley wrote the novel La disparition de la petite Lisa , which deals with the case literarily.
