Saul Goskind
Saul Goskind (* 1907 in Warsaw , † 2003 in Bnei Berak ) was a Jewish film producer in Poland and Israel . It was through him that the most important Yiddish-language films were made in Poland from 1936 to 1949.
Life
Saul Goskind was born in 1907 to a Jewish family in Warsaw. In 1932 he founded the first Jewish film studio sector with his brother Isaak . In 1936 the Kinor film studio was created . That year the film Al Chejt was produced there. More films followed.
In 1939 he went to the Soviet Union , in 1945 he returned to Poland and resumed his production work. In 1951 he went to Israel . There he produced other films. In 2003 he died in Bnei Berak .
