Peter Neuböck

Peter Neuböck (* 1855 in Obdach , Styria , † August 17, 1928 in Graz ) was an Austrian sculptor .

Life

Peter Neuböck was born in Upper Styria. From 1867, at the age of twelve, he began his apprenticeship with the Graz sculptor Jakob Gschiel , and he finished his apprenticeship in 1871. After that, the Styrian worked as an assistant in Vienna and Graz, when he finally worked as an independent artist in the Styrian capital in 1885 settled down.

In his extensive oeuvre, Peter Neuböck mainly created sacred art, mainly providing interior furnishings for churches in Styria, Carinthia and the Balkans. His older son Hans (1891–1979) was also a sculptor in Graz, the younger, Max (1893–1960) was a painter and sculptor and lived in Vienna.
