Savoy Brown is a British blues rock band . The line-up changed constantly, only the band's founder and front man Kim Simmonds was always there.

Band history

In 1965 the band was founded by Kim Simmonds under the name Savoy Brown Blues Band . They soon made their first demo recordings. In the summer of the same year they performed together with Cream . In 1967 the first album Shake Down was released . Savoy Brown accompanied John Lee Hooker on his tour of England.

In 1968 the band toured successfully in the USA . Savoy Brown has always been more popular in America than in his native England. In 1970 the band went on tour in the US for the fifth time, and many more were to follow.

In 1972 the band Foghat split from Savoy Brown. In 1974 Savoy Brown produced the album Boogie Brothers with three outstanding guitarists: Stan Webb , Miller Anderson and of course Kim Simmonds .

Savoy Brown is still active after the turn of the millennium.
