Miller Anderson (born April 12, 1945 in Houston, Renfrewshire , Scotland ) is a British blues and rock musician . He became known as a guitarist and singer with Keef Hartley and Savoy Brown, among others .

Miller Anderson began his musical career in the mid-1960s with bands such as The Royal Crests , Karl Stuart & the Profiles and The Scenery . In 1968 Anderson starred on At Last The 1958 Rock N Roll Show , which was renamed Charlie Woolfe that year .

In November 1968, Anderson joined the Keef Hartley Band , which performed at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 . With Keef Hartley, Anderson recorded the albums Halfbreed (1969), The Battle Of North West Six (1969), The Time Is Near (1970), Overdog (1971) and Little Big Band (1971). He also wrote most of the songs. On the first two albums he wrote under the pseudonym Hewitson, as he was not allowed to use his name for contractual reasons.

In 1971 Anderson Keef Hartley left and produced the solo album Bright City . In 1973 he founded the band Hemlock , with whom he recorded an album and toured in support of Uriah Heep . In 1974 Anderson joined the blues band Savoy Brown , which already had two excellent guitarists in Stan Webb and Kim Simmonds . The album Boogie Brothers was created , but Anderson left the band at the end of the same year.

In 1975 Miller Anderson worked again with Keef Hartley. Together they formed the band Dog Soldier , who released an album of the same name.

In mid-1976, Anderson became a member of the T. Rex band . Singer Marc Bolan hired him as the second guitarist and background singer for his "comeback band". After they recorded the album " Dandy In The Underworld " together and had successfully toured France and Great Britain, he left the band in June 1977. He had had enough of the numerous playback appearances, wanted to play "live" again and still went in same year on tour with Donovan . This was followed by a tour in support of Yes . In 1979, Anderson co-founded the band The Dukes , which recorded an album and went on tour with Wishbone Ash, among others .

From 1982 a collaboration with Stan Webb followed , first in his band Speedway , then in 1984 in the new edition of Chicken Shack . After a brief stint at Mountain , Anderson helped revitalize the Spencer Davis Group . With their drummer Pete York , singer Chris Farlowe and other colleagues, he recorded the album Superblues . Miller Anderson was also a member of Pete York's popular Superdrumming series .

In the 1990s, Anderson was touring both solo and with well-known musicians such as Jon Lord and Roger Chapman . He continued to play with the Spencer Davis Group and there was a revival of his early band The Scenery . In 1997 the solo album Celtic Moon was released , produced by the German blues and rock guitarist Frank Diez , and in 2003 Bluesheart . With the Spencer Davis Group 3 live albums have been released so far, on which Miller can be heard on guitar and vocals: 1997 Payin 'Them Blues Dues , 2002 Live In Manchester and 2006 Official Bootleg . He was also on tour in 2007 with The British Blues Quintet (with Maggie Bell , Zoot Money, Colin Hodgkinson and Colin Allen), of which the album Live in Glasgow (Recorded At The Ferry) was also released in November 2007.

In 2012 he joined the Hamburg Blues Band and toured Germany with them in autumn 2012 and spring 2013.
