Kim Simmonds

Kim Simmonds (born December 5, 1947 in Newbridge , Wales ) is a British blues and rock musician (guitar, piano, vocals). He became known as the founder and front man of the blues rock formation Savoy Brown .

Simmonds started playing guitar when he was 13. In 1966 he founded the Savoy Brown Blues Band , which later became particularly popular in the USA as Savoy Brown .

Kim Simmonds is one of the UK's leading blues guitarists, along with colleagues such as Eric Clapton , Mick Taylor and Peter Green . He shaped the blues rock scene in England in the 1960s and made a decisive contribution to bringing the enthusiasm for blues back to America.

Even after 40 years, Kim Simmonds is still on the road with Savoy Brown. He also works solo over and over again, preferring the acoustic guitar.
