Sawjalicha

Sawjalicha ( Russian Завьялиха ) is a ski resort in the southern Urals in the Chelyabinsk Oblast in Russia . Sawjalicha is located about halfway between the metropolises of Chelyabinsk and Ufa around 12 km southwest of the " closed city " Trjochgorny on the slopes of the mountain of the same name.

The ski area was put into operation at the end of the 1990s based on the model of western ski resorts and has been continuously expanded since then. The ski season is usually from late November to mid-April. There are 10 ski slopes with a length of up to 3 km, a six-seater chairlift made in Austria, cross-country skiing trails, several ski lifts , special offers for snowboarders and a system for artificial snowmaking.

Sawjalicha is located 15 kilometers from the M5 main road, the most important road connection from Moscow eastwards across the Urals to Siberia and the Russian Far East. There are regular bus routes from Sawjalicha to the next train station (20 km away), to the surrounding small towns and to Chelyabinsk. For tour groups there is a shuttle service to the two nearest airports (Ufa, Tscheljabinsk).
