Saxtromba

Saxtromba ( Singular Saxtromba ) are the members of a family of brass instruments invented by Adolphe Sax (patent 1845) .

The Saxtromben are the saxhorns related and were built in various sizes. The scale length lies between that of the bow horn or saxhorn family and that of the horn family . The tone sounds accordingly also between the mentioned. As with the sax horns, the bell points upwards. They were mainly used in French military music .
