Sayuri Asahara

Sayuri Asahara ( Japanese 浅 原 さ ゆ り , Asahara Sayuri ; born July 26, 1985 ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Career

Sayuri Asahara attended Tsurajima Middle School in Kurashiki , then Kasaoka Commercial High School in Kasaoka, and finally Japanese Sports University . Her first major success she had in 2002 when she finished third in singles at the Inter-High High School Championships ( 高校 総 体 , kōkō sōtai ). The following year she came second in doubles at the Junior Badminton Championship. In 2006 she won doubles at the student championships. Then she joined the company Nihon Unisys for whose factory team she has played since then. In 2008 she took part in the General Championships , where she finished third in mixed doubles with her teammate Hajime Komiyama . She also came third in the mixed doubles at the 2009 adult badminton championship. The following year she took part again in this event and achieved third place in the women's doubles.

Sayuri Asahara was fifth in women's doubles with Yūko Kanamori at Korea International . In 2010 she finished second at the Australia Open in mixed, with Hajime Komiyama by her side. She finished third at the Osaka International 2011.
