The Schramm hill ( English Scar Hills , scars hill ' ) are a small mountain range of hills in Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . At the northeastern end of the Trinity Peninsula , they extend from the head end of Hope Bay along its southeastern shore over a length of 1.5 km in a northeastern direction.
A team led by Johan Gunnar Andersson discovered and named them in the course of the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901-1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld . The name is derived from the grooves that are characteristic of the hills and that were created under the influence of glaciers . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated the name into English in 1949.
