Peel the potato

Peeling in the broadest sense means removing the outer layer or shell from an object. A knife or a scraper is often used for this. The most common is certainly the peeling of fruit and vegetables in preparation for their further use in cooking or for consumption.

Softwood trunks are sometimes peeled after felling, i.e. their bark is removed in order to avoid infestation with pests (especially the bark beetles of the spruce trees).

Standing trees are peeled by red, sika and fallow deer , this damage from game is called peeling .

It also speaks to the renewal of the skin that the detaching skin peels.
