Appraiser
The profession of appraiser or appraiser has been around for a very long time. Therefore the following old job titles can be found: Wardein , Schatter , Schattmann , Taxator , aestimator , aestimator panis (bread inspector), aestimator rerum (surcharge). These designations can still be found today as family names .
Then as now, an appraiser deals with the valuation of property , but nowadays more and more intangible values such as land, antiques, art objects or brands, logos, corporate identity. Today the general term "appraiser" is rarely used, for example in soil appraisal . The term reviewer is now more common.
The value of a thing is in the estimate frequently from one expert or experts determined that based on his experience or using standardized procedures sets a reasonable value in his view. An appraiser is therefore regularly consulted in the following cases:
- pending sale or purchase of land, goods, services, companies
- pending gift or inheritance of values
- Disputes about the value of a good, service, etc.
- Calculation of the market value of companies or firms
- Assessment of accident damage and similar insurance cases
The appraiser's opinion is not always binding. You can have other appraisers determine the value again and again. However, the latter does not help to resolve a dispute or sale situation. In the event of accident damage to vehicles, you must or may even rely on the judgment of the first expert.
