The Schörgenhubstraße is a street in the Upper Austrian capital Linz . It is located in the statistical district of Kleinmünchen-Auwiesen . The street was named in 1929 after the village of the same name Schörgenhub , the name being derived from the property of the henchman ( henchman or court usher).

Location and characteristics

The approximately 1050 meter long road branches off from the Am Langen Zaun road in the north and runs in a south or south-east direction to Auwiesenstrasse. After around 300 meters, Dauphinestraße crosses Schörgenhubstraße, and a further 170 meters further south, Flötzerweg . In the north as far as Dauphinestrasse, Schörgenhubstrasse runs through or along the outskirts of Schörgenhub . To the east of this section is the new sports center Linz-Kleinmünchen with its sports facilities (Meindlstrasse 25). To the south of Dauphinestrasse, a separate cycle path runs parallel to the road, and this section of the street is served by bus line 12 with the Schörgenhubbad and partly Mitterweg stops.

history

The Schörgenhubstraße is a very old street that led through the small Schörgenhub group. In the 19th century the village consisted of five buildings, one of which still exists today as a farm building (Schörgenhubstraße 35). South of this farm in 1832/33 on the Weidinger Bach with the "cotton spinning factory" the first large mechanical enterprise in Kleinmünchen was built. Other buildings were located north and west of the farm.
