Bulk absorption

All standardized waste containers have a discharge receptacle to the container by means of lift that the garbage truck is attached to empty. There are many different types and designs.

EN comb strip

All plastic containers according to EN 840 have a comb strip on the upper front edge of the body. The comb strip is usually designed as a two-step edge that is connected to the container wall by means of struts for stabilization. The garbage truck has a hydraulically driven lifting device that looks like a "comb". This comb is driven into the comb bar from below and thus lifts the container. Shortly before the container is emptied, the upper two-stage part of the comb bar is pressed against a holding device that prevents the container from falling into the garbage truck.

DU recording

Instead of a comb strip, the DIAMOND containers have a "bib" into which an approximately semi-circular lifting device is moved from below, which lifts the container. The DU holder has been used primarily for side-loading vehicles since the 1990s , since the containers can be picked up easily and safely, but these containers are not very widespread.

DIN spigot mount

This holder is only available for large garbage containers from 660 l to 1100 l. The containers have 2 pins on both sides. The lifter of the garbage truck has 2 folding arms with an opening on the front, into which the 2 pins of the large garbage container are pushed. The DIN mounting has the disadvantage that the container must be pushed precisely with its pin into the openings of the folding arms. When the comb is picked up, the comb of the garbage truck automatically moves into the comb bar of the bin.

Foreign recording types

In Switzerland, the Ochsner intake is particularly common. It is similar to the DIN mount, but does not consist of a tenon, but of a metal bracket that also serves as a handle and is attached to the garbage truck.

The AFNOR comb strip is common in France. In contrast to the EN comb strip, it consists of only one edge (not 2-step) and has no struts with the fuselage for easier mounting.
