The Schach-Magazin 64 is a German chess magazine that has been published since 1979. In 1992, the traditional chess magazine was chess echo adopted.

The editor-in-chief has been the international master Otto Borik from the start .

Until the end of 2006, the chess magazine 64 appeared every two weeks with a volume of 24 pages, since January 2007 it appears monthly with a volume of 52 pages. The sales price is currently (September 2018) 6.60 euros. The publisher is Carl Ed. Schünemann from Bremen .

The focus is on reports on current tournaments that were illustrated with black and white photos until the end of 2009 . Since the January 2010 issue, the magazine has been published in full color. There are also regular sections such as “Test & Training” and “ Combinations ”, which are aimed at club players who want to improve their playing strength.
