African Chess Championship 1998

The 1998 African Chess Championship took place from December 2 to 12, 1998 in the Egyptian capital, Cairo , and was the first time the competition was held. Out of ten participants, the Egyptian Ibrahim Hasan Labib prevailed over the Moroccan Mohamed Tissir .
