Schahreza ( Persian شهرضا), Formerly Khomesheh , is the capital of County Schahreza in the province of Isfahan . In 2016 the city had around 135,000 inhabitants.
location
Shahreza is 508 km south of Tehran and about 80 km southwest of Isfahan. The Zard Kooh mountain range runs from northwest to southeast of the city and therefore enjoys a cold climate.

history
Shahreza is an old pilgrimage and bazaar town that was formerly called Khomesheh but was renamed Shahreza after a shrine. Shahreza was declared a city in 1929.
