Schalta ( Georgian სხალთა ; sχɑltʰɑ ) or Qintschauri ( Georgian ყინჭაური ; qʼɪnt͡ʃʼɑʊrɪ ) is a medieval Georgian Orthodox church from the 13th century. It is located in the Adjara Autonomous Republic , Chulo Municipality , Qintschauri Village. The church of Schalta is a center of the diocese of the same name of the Georgian Orthodox Apostle Church .
The Schalta church stands on a mountain slope. The building is domed and made of the hewn stone. On the eastern wall there are three traditional Georgian ornaments in the shape of a cross. In the interior, the walls are decorated with frescoes. There used to be a wall around the church that is no longer there.
