The Alte Ruhl ski jumping facility is a ski jumping facility in the Thuringian Forest in the area of the city of Ruhla .
The name Alte Ruhl goes back to the deserted area of Alte Ruhl , one of the oldest settlements in the urban area of Ruhla.

The Alte Ruhl ski jumping facility is located above the town of Ruhla, directly on Landesstraße 2119 .
history
The first ski jump, on which international competitions also took place, was built in 1925 in Lappengrund . This hill was replaced in 1959 by the Alte Ruhl facility, which still exists today .
description
The ski jumping facility is used for training and competitions. The jumps with a K-point of 5, 10 and 17 meters and the Hans-Heß-Schanze with a K-point of 37 meters are equipped with ceramic inrun tracks and plastic mats. The youth hill with a K-point of 57 meters is only available when there is sufficient snow cover.

Trail garden
The trail garden is located at the exit of the ski jumping facility and extends in a northerly direction as far as the vicinity of the forest baths of Ruhla. In winter, the cross-country trails are prepared for skating and classic technique over a length of 2 km if there is sufficient snow cover . The trails are illuminated between 5pm and 9pm.
